A naphthenic oil based organic defoaming agent used for many applications.
Liquid blend of surface active agents which work to control foam over a broad pH range of industrial processes.
Complies with FDA 21 CFR
176.170 (Components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods)
176.180 (Components of paper and paperboard in contact with dry foods)
176.210 (Defoaming agents used in the manufacture of paper and paperboard.
Should be considered in any process where foaming is a problem.
Rapid knockdown of any existing foam.
Emulsifies easily to make dilute concentrations.
Effective at low dosage.
Can be used at high temperatures and alkaline pH's.
Polymer additive to improve knockdown efficiency and drainage for paper systems.
DF460 may be fed neat or in emulsion form. Emulsions may be made in-line or just prior to use. Selecting the proper application point, usually just before the point of foam difficulty, assures best foam control. Typical emulsions are formed at concentrations above 5%. Dosage varies depending on severity of foam conditions and method of application but usually between 1-500 ppm.
Appearance: Tan liquid
Viscosity: 1000-3000 cps
Specific gravity: 0.89
Transportation and Storage:
DF460 should be stored at temperatures below 120°F. Suggested storage limit is one year. After shelf life is exceeded resample and test product for specification and performance before use. To prevent discoloration, keep product out of direct sunlight.
